Why Us

Systems level impact

Over the past year examples of our impact included:

  • Flowed AUD $20 million to support Australia’s Great Barrier Reef’s Traditional Owners secure the future of the Reef.
  • Convened more than 50 organisations at global policy conferences. Delegates took lead roles in global nature negotiations, raised significant funds for Indigenous-led nature solutions, and we built cross sector connections between investors, Indigenous leaders, philanthropy and corporates.
  • Shared replicable models for financing nature solutions across Ampliseed’s learning and leadership network connecting conservation leaders across seven diverse global biomes.

As we look towards 2030 our aim is to elevate systems level impact.

Our Impact

Moving at the speed of trust.

Our research surfaced that across sectors – finance, government, business, and philanthropy – there is an interest and willingness to invest in nature solutions and new models for nature finance. But each sector has its own timelines, language and incentives, and there are few spaces focused on translating and aligning across these diverse perspectives.

New ways of working —new financial, governance and partnership models— must align to create the readiness and trust to sustain solutions that heal nature, people and planet.

Our 2030 Strategy focuses on shifting the current system from:

Fragmented funding sources
The right sources of finance flowing to seed and scale.
Consultation and benefit sharing
Joint venture partnerships and co-governance
Individual siloed advice
Cross-sector pool of strategic advisors with the range of experience, skills and expertise needed to de-risk projects
Isolated one-off nature finance projects
Shared resources: roadmaps, lessons learned, open-source tools & market insights
From local impact
Regional and global amplification

We’ll know we’re creating system-level impact when:

  • Trust and alignment between Indigenous Nations, allies, philanthropy, investors and government increases.
  • Public and private investment flows to nature finance solutions created in partnership with Indigenous Nations across diverse ecosystems.
  • Indigenous Nations access to technical expertise and the sources of finance needed at the right time to seed and grow nature finance solutions increases.
  • Practical models for place-based nature finance solutions inspire replication between Indigenous Peoples’ stewarding their territories globally.
